When I got these headphones I was really excited, they look great, and are very cheap, Sold for £ 34.98 on Amazon.
OneOdio A11 Review
So, as with all my technical reviews, I will start with my initial impression and then move on to quality, sound quality and finally ease of use. Let’s get into this.
So upon receiving the headphones I excitedly opened the box and was a little disappointed if I was honest. The box itself looks pretty good, the black, silver and white color with the big and clear picture of the headphones works really well. So why was I disappointed? Well, unfortunately the box had a few outlets when it arrived, it was not a deal breaker but yes I wanted to mention it because they were quite noticeable.
Even with the socket box itself quite nice to look at, it will definitely catch your eye in the store. It has all the information you need, including a website where you can sign up for a 24 month free extended warranty.
When I opened the box I was presented with a beautiful leather carrying case containing the headphones. This is a great thing to have if you are traveling and do not want the headphones to just be loose anywhere in your bag.
The box also contains the headphones (of course), a micro USB charging cable (but without a plug), a 3.5mm audio cable, and the user guide.
If you’re like me, you will love the black and smooth design of the headphones, almost all of my clothes are black so I like to get headphones that fit. But not only are they compatible, the lack of wires makes the take them with me if I go to stores much more convenient than being tied to my phone.
The last thing I noticed in my first impressions is that the ear pads can fold inwards for convenient storage. It’s a small thing but it’s a really nice feature.
Whenever I write or even if I just watch YouTube I tend to use headphones for long periods at a time, for this reason convenience is a major factor whether the headphones work for me or not. Fortunately the A11 delivers in this class.
The ear pads are comfortable enough, however after about 6 hours my ears started to ache. This will not be a problem for most people, but for people who use headphones while working it may be a problem, so be sure to take a break from them.
The plastic used for the A11 does not look the most durable. Although I have not yet had any issues with any fractures, I do not think it will withstand much pressure. I may be wrong in this regard but only by the feel of the plastic was this my opinion.
As I write this OneOdio A11 review I use them to listen to music, but because I’m on my computer I have to put on my glasses. With a lot of headphones I usually have a problem with riding both the headphones and my glasses at the same time. This is not the case with the A11, my glasses sit comfortably with the ear pads and that means I do not have to take a break every half hour.
Now as to why you’re probably here, is the sound quality good? Well yes and no.
When I listen to music or even YouTube via the A11, as long as I have the sound high enough, most things are fine, but if my sound is too low then I can hear a constant hum that overcomes everything I listen to. I do not know if this is just a problem in my set or if it is a common phenomenon. Fortunately, I rarely have the sound so low and it has to be quite low for that to happen.
Overall the sound quality is pretty good, although it may not always be the most obvious sound there is in their price, it’s really good. The biggest problem I had was the bass. The bass can be overwhelming, especially when you turn on Super EQ mode, making it difficult to focus on anything else that is happening in what you are listening to.
Overall if you were to compare these to some of the other products on the market at about the same price, you would definitely get value for your money by purchasing the A11.
Ease of use
The A11 comes with several different features. Obviously they have Bluetooth, but they also have the super EQ mode I just mentioned, and they also have the voice assistant (but more on that below).
So how easy is it to use any of these features?
Bluetooth works just like all Bluetooth devices, you turn on Bluetooth on your phone and then hold down the middle button on the A11 and select them on your phone. This part is easy, anyone and his grandmother can do it, especially if you just follow the instructions in the user manual.
Super EQ mode is equally easy, all you have to do to activate it is press the button and hold it for two seconds. This is supposed to turn your audio into an immersive experience but as I said before it can often ruin the experience, but it will be up to you to decide.
So the voice assistant may sound super fancy and you may be wondering how it will work, but all it takes is using your phone’s integrated assistant, for example Siri. However, this is not a bad thing, it’s still convenient if you can not be bothered to grab your phone, since you can even talk to them through the built-in microphone.
If you were curious about the battery life in the A11 then do not worry. The battery lasts around 24 hours on a full charge, which means you can listen to music non-stop and avoid all the people trying to talk to you.
OneOdio A11 Summary and Judgment Review
For a relatively cheap and accessible headset set, the A11 is a great choice, I know I will use them whenever I have to go out in public and do not want to socialize.
Although I like these headphones, there are some issues I experienced so I give them a 6/10, it could just be my headphones so I suggest you buy or at least try the A11 especially if, like me, you’re on a budget.
